As the name indicates, Gausdal Genealogy is concentrating around families in the municipality of Gausdal in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway. The aim is to cover the 200-year period from 1700 AD to 1900 AD and in the end include all families that can be identified and traced through written records. For some families the history also include most of the 19th Century. For security and privacy reasons I have excluded vital data for living persons.
The research is based on photocopies of church records, censuses and other written information that is thought to be reliable. Information I have received from others over several years or found on the Internet is controlled against the available church records. I strive to be very precise and accurate in my genealogy, but I can give no guarantee of the correctness of the information on this site. You should be aware that all family information found on the Internet is, at its best, secondary information. It has been transcribed or photographed from primary or secondary sources up to several times and inaccuracies and errors may easily occur.
From time to time I have to reassess my data and this process may cause corrections and changes to the lines in the family trees. I do not keep a record of changes and corrections, to keep updated you are encouraged to revisit my site from time to time.
The access to the family trees is COMPLETELY FREE, you do not need User ID or Password, and you are FREE to use the information you like at your own discretion. If you are publishing any information from this site, please be kind to refer to Gausdal Genealogy and my E-mail address as your source.
If you find errors or missing information and other issues that could improve the quality of Gausdal Genealogy, I would appreciate your feedback via E-mail.
I have from time to time been asked to do some genealogy research and I am doing my best to help people that are searching for ancestors from Norway, and in particular when their roots are in the municipality of Gausdal.
I am, however, working full-time as an Engineer, and all research have to be done during nights and weekends. If you should need some assistance and help in your search for your roots, you may contact me via E-mail and I will make a FREE ASSESSMENT of your request, and if I have time available to go on with the research, we could then agree upon scope and price for further services.
Thanks for visiting, welcome back.
